Tool and Slipknot to headline Copenhell 2019!

on

COPENHELL adds two giant main names to the 2019 festival poster with the sought-after and popular bands SLIPKNOT and TOOL.

SLIPKNOT, from the beginning of their wild military campaign, has cultivated the enigmatic work of a rare combination of aggressiveness and provocation in their distinctive style and powerful music. Concerts with this mask-clad ensemble reminds me most of a grotesque musical piece of play with the hyperactive frontman Corey Taylor in the lead role, where he inevitably whips the audience to pure ecstasy.

The American band started their honorable career in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1999 and has over the past two decades gained 10 Grammy nominations (and won one with “Before I Forget” in 2006) and achieved 13 platinum and 44 gold records throughout the world for their highly effective blend of heavy metal, hard rock and now metal. Their latest album, The Gray Chapter, from 2014, went straight to Top 5 in 19 different countries.

SLIPKNOT celebrates their 20th birthday when they return to COPENHELL in 2019, and we can expect an all-hell party to celebrate with them. At the beginning of the year, they go to the studio to produce new material for their upcoming album and we look forward to serving an explosive cocktail of their former mega-hits and exciting new songs this summer.

TOOL is one of the absolute heavyweights on the international rock and metal scene and the band that COPENHELL’s audience has sought most through the years. With just four released albums over 25 years and a fifth on their way the eccentric Americans have managed to establish themselves as one of the biggest rock and metal bands ever. And for good reason, for intellect and emotions, they melt into unbelievably high levels in their completely unique sound and fascinating universe.

TOOL’s progressive experimental music lies and vibrates in the midst of the sparkling tension between rock and metal. It rests on a superior combination of complex rhythmic, crushing hard riffs and superb songwriting, where everything fuses into one unit. The band is respected by everyone and is therefore perfect for a festival where we celebrate community, community and music culture across genres and generations.

It has been more than 12 years since TOOL last appeared in Denmark and it is therefore a huge pleasure for us to present this landmark, ultra-ambitious band as the main name of COPENHELL 2019. It will be a perfect phenomenal experience.

The top-performing music maker and filmmaker ROB ZOMBIE delivered a magnificent performance of a concert at COPENHELL 2017, and it is with great pleasure that we welcome the metal warden back to the festival next year.    We are looking forward to seeing his powerful musical horror show again – and we can probably count on many songs from his new 2019 album.
