PANTERA is regarded as one of the greatest metal bands of all time. The uncompromising quartet of singer Philip Anselmo, guitarist Dimebag Darrell, his brother, drummer Vinnie Paul and bassist Rex Brown quickly rose to massive global success in the 1990s with multiple gold and platinum albums, sold out tours, ferocious live performances, and four Grammy ® nominations. To this day, their metal masterpieces are cornerstones of heavy music, including Cowboys From Hell, Vulgar Display Of Power, and the Billboard#1 album Far Beyond Driven. The Texas foursome continues to inspire multitudes of fellow musicians while garnering millions of insanely devoted fans worldwide. Philip Anselmo and Rex Brown are joined on the band’s 2023 tour by guitarist Zakk Wylde and drummer Charlie Benante – a line-up that is ready to wow COPENHELL with metal that defined an entire generation.
Throughout the two last decades, GOJIRA has gone from cult status to becoming one of the world’s most popular and competent metal headliners today. These super-disciplined musical equilibrists have moved from technically complex and advanced death metal toward more progressive metal in recent years – always with an amazing groove and drive in their music. The band doesn’t just impress with their album releases constantly; they are also a strong live band that always delivers an immensely heavy experience of extremely high quality. We look forward to the ferocious Frenchmen’s third COPENHELL performance in 2023.
The GHOST train has sped along with full speed ever since the their debut album ‘Opus Eponymous’ from 2010. Early in 2022, the band took another great step forward with their sound and style with the brilliant album ‘IMPERA’, and they are in the top league of modern metal bands today. The pop-satanic songs rest upon a solid foundation of classic heavy 70s rock a la Black Sabbath and Blue Öyster Cult with lots of groove. Across their five studio albums, the band has created a long list of black earworms that we look forward to experience live next summer.
Pop and punk meet metal and thumping dance rhythms when the geil Germans from ELECTRIC CALLBOY serve up their absolutely mad electronicore. Their hyper-energetic schlagers are delivered with lots of irony and tongue in cheek by a band that could not care less about whether people laugh with them or at them! They are first and foremost about not taking things too seriously – and we are ready to guarantee lots of good laughs and great singalong factor!
The thrash veterans from TESTAMENT released their 13th studio album, ’Titans of Creation’, in 2020, and it was a great fit for a long and illustrious metal career. With its extremely talented musicians and swelling song catalogue, the band has a staying power like few others. Their monstrously heavy and crushing sound is delivered at a furious gallop pace with sould and great technical skill. We look forward to seeing the COPENHELL audience celebrate the venerable metal giants when they visit Copenhagen this summer – with ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo back behind the kit!
So far 58 bands have been announced for Copenhell 2023, stay tuned for more to come!
