As we move through the Rock For People advent release calendar, we can add 4 new bands to the 2022 line up!
Starting with REIGNWOLF, who have toured with the Pixies, The Who and — the heaviest of the heavy — Black Sabbath, before releasing debut album Hear Me Out to critical acclaim. His guitar playing is known for being electrical and enchanting; perfectly matching his powerful yet haunting raw vocals. REIGNWOLF is rock and roll in its most pure form. Don’t miss out on the loudest most intense performance of the summer!
Next up we have Arizona band EYES SET TO KILL who are no newcomers to the Czech Republic. In 2011, they performed in Prague and Brno, and in 2018 and 2019, they were back in the capital. Despite the band’s wild changes – 17 members have come in and out – EYES SET TO KILL are American metalcore stars with six studio albums, 2 EPs, and 19 singles on their credit. They have received widespread critical acclaim with their album The World Outside and appeared on the cover of USA Today as one of the “100 Bands You Should Know”.
From the heart heart of Europe, Prague, SKYWALKER was founded in 2011, quickly rising to the top of Czechoslovak modern metal/alternative rock scene.
After several releases such as Babylon or Liberty Island, SKYWALKER released their defining EP Sugar House in 2017 (produced by Seb Barlow, Neck Deep), firmly establishing their sound as a fresh combination of emotional post-hardcore, crushing metal breakdowns, and catchy melodies paired with heartfelt lyricism. Joining forces with Avocado Booking, touring incessantly ever since with names like Beartooth, Crystal Lake, Normandie, For The Fallen Dreams, or Our Hollow, Our Home. With two successful video singles Ignis & Justify Me under their belt in 2019, the boys entered 2020 in style with their fresh metal hit Away, following with Soundtrack, Setting Stone & topping the year with their first single on the new label Pale Chord. With the final single Charon’s Song, SKYWALKER paved the way for Late Eternity, which was finally released on February 19 via Pale Chord & Rise Records.
And finally for today we have British rock band formed in 2013 in Blackpool, UK, BOSTON MANOR.
They found inspiration in 90s grunge and early 21st-century post-hardcore. In 2018 they were nominated for a Kerrang! Awards for Best UK Discovery and a year later received a nomination for Best Cover at the Heavy Music Awards with their album Welcome to the Neighbourhood. The band started in an old mail van and played parties in squats, basements, and punk clubs, working their way up to the biggest stages. These have performed on stage with Good Charlotte and A Day To Remember, to name a few. This year, despite the initial frustration of not being able to tour, this bunch released a new EP Desperate Times Desperate Pleasures, which earned rave reviews from Distorted Sound magazine. On this EP, BOSTON MANOR tackles themes of feeling alone during isolation with a good dose of dark humour – and we love it.
