THE SOUNDS was formed in 1998 by classmates Maja Ivarsson (vocals), Felix Rodriguez (guitar), Johan Bengtsson (bass) and Fredrik Nilsson (drums) in Helsingborg. Shortly afterwards, they came across the youngest member Jesper Anderberg (synth / piano / guitar) at the Hultsfred Festival.

The debut album that came to be called ‘Living in America’ and was released in 2002. The album was a success both in Sweden and in the USA. This was just the beginning of their brilliant career. The band received many awards such as “Best Newcomer”, a Grammy and ended up in place No. 4 in the Swedish album lists.

THE SOUNDS took the United States by storm and they made several television appearances in the country. Their fan base started to grow and just got bigger and bigger. Famous people like Dave Grohl, Pharrell, Quentin Tarantino, Bam Margera, Britney Spears and more quickly became part of their fan base.

Now the unique front woman Maja Ivarsson comes with THE SOUNDS to Atlas Rock festival on the 5th June 2022!
