The Smashing Pumpkins to play NOS Alive in Portugal

THE SMASHING PUMPKINS, legendary band of alternative rock, will take to the stage NOS on July 13th, the day that concludes the 13th edition of NOS Alive.

The band brings to the Passeio Marítimo de Algés the celebration of the new long-running “Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. In the Sun, “which is the group’s first studio work in 18 years, which brings together founding members Billy Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin and longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder.

The new album, recorded at Shangri La studios with legendary producer Rick Rubin, was praised by Q Magazine with a four-star critique, including the single called “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)”, which was considered one of the best songs of the career of The Smashing Pumpkins. For a band that states “No Past. No Future “,” the present settles them extremely well, “the publication notes.

Formed in 1988, THE SMASHING PUMPKINS released the first album “Gish” in 1991, having in 1993 called worldwide attention as the edition of the album “Siamese Dream”, four times multi-platinum. In 1995 they released “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness”, that reached the mark multi-platinum by 10 times. With more than 30 million albums sold to date, several award recipients, including Grammy, MTV VMA and American Music Award, continue to be one of the most important alternative rock bands ever, as well as one of the main influences of the groups born in the last decades.
