Mumford & Sons to headline Pinkpop 2019

With the confirmation of MUMFORD & SONS the second headliner has been added to the program of the 50th edition of the Pinkpop festival. The organisers can also confirm the acts GEORGE EZRA and TENACIOUS D

At the beginning this month, FLEETWOOD MAC was already announced as the first act to headline the anniversary edition of the festival. Pinkpop 2019 takes place during the Whitsun weekend, on Saturday 8, Sunday 9 and Monday 10 June, at the festival site of Megaland in Landgraaf.

MUMFORD & SONS made their break-through in 2009 with “Sigh No More” that included the hit singles ‘Little Lion Man’ and ‘The Cave’. In May of 2019 the band will play a sold-out Ziggo Dome, before entering the stage as the finishing act at Pinkpop. It’s been seven years since Mumford & Sons was last seen at Pinkpop and was requested by Bruce Springsteen at the time to join him for one song.

Englishman GEORGE EZRA broke through as a singer-songwriter in 2014 with his single ‘Budapest’. He quickly developed from an unknown artist into a major international star whose debut album occupied the top 10 in over ten countries and who toured the globe. With his catchy music George Ezra is one of the most popular artists of his time and his spot at the 2019 edition of Pinkpop is most deserved.

TENACIOUS D is a duo consisting of musicians and actors Jack Black (from: The School of Rock, High Fidelity and other movies) and Kyle Gass (Elf, Gnaw and others). They met in Los Angeles at a theater group and decided to form a band. The band play a mix of comedy and hard rock with heavy metal influences, performed on acoustic guitars.

Ticket sales for Pinkpop starts Saturday 16th March 2019 through www.ticketmaster.nl and other Ticketmaster box offices.
