The Killers confirmed for Milano Summer Festival

After a spectacular show on the stage of I-Days 2018 at the Expo – Experience Milan Area, THE KILLERS return to Milan on Sunday 12th July at the SNAI San Siro Milano Hippodrome in the program of the Milano Summer Festival.

Originally from Las Vegas, they started in 2001 and are inspired by the typical sounds of the eighties and the New Wave.

THE KILLERS achieved success in 2004 with the release of their debut album, “Hot Fuss”, which gets five Grammy Award nominations and sells more than 5 million copies. 2005 sees them as protagonists on prestigious stages such as the Glastonbury Festival and the London Live 8, as well as being chosen by U2 as a support group to open a large part of their European tour.

“Sam’s Town” is the second recording project released in October 2006 and anticipated by the single “When You Were Young”. Sales exceed 3.5 million copies and in 2007 the band earns a BRIT Awards for best rock album and two Grammy Awards nominations. The following year the new album “Day & Age” was released, which received a nomination for Best Album at the BRIT Awards and two nominations for the 2009 NME Awards where the Killers won as Best International Band. In the same year, the DVD “Live from the Royal Albert Hall” was released, which contained the recording of the concerts of 5 and 6 July in the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London.

The fourth studio album is “Battle Born” which, released in 2012, marks a return to the rock tones of the beginning and earns THE KILLERS the fourth NME prize for best international band. Just a year later, “Direct Hits” is released, a best of the American rock band that includes the most successful singles such as “Mr. Brightside “,” Somebody Told me “and” Human “. Inside there are three bonus tracks including a remix by Calvin Harris of “When You Were Young”.

The new album comes after five years and is titled “Wonderful Wonderful” and for the first time in the history of the band reaches the first position on the Billboard 200, in addition to earning the Killers the fourth nomination at the Brit Awards for best international group.

In 2019 THE KILLERS performed as headliners at the Glastonbury Festival with a performance that Rolling Stone defines as legendary and which sees the participation of Pet Shop Boys and Johnny Marr.

With over 15 million copies sold worldwide, THE KILLERS became the first international band to have five albums that debuted at the top of the British music charts.

The release of the new album “Imploding The Mirage” is expected in the spring, accompanied by a European tour that will start from Scotland on May 28, 2020 and will stop in Milan on July 12th, 2020.
