Slipknot to headline Graspop Metal Meeting

on

The Des Moines, Iowa metallers from SLIPKNOT survived a great deal of adversity to become one of the most successful metal bands of their generation.

Founded in 1995, the daredevil nine-piece released their self-titled debut in 1999. Two years later ‘Slipknot’ went platinum. Follow-up ‘Iowa’ (2002) took the world by storm and young metalheads in particular embraced both the music and the band’s stage appearance. ‘Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)’ cemented the band’s status and ‘All Hope Is Gone’ was released a full six years later, following a new hiatus in the band’s career.

When disaster struck in 2010 with the untimely death of co-founder and driving force Paul Gray, SLIPKNOT’s future hung in the balance but eventually the band of friends rallied and kept the fire burning, culminating in ‘.5: The Gray Chapter’ (2014).

Reviving the sound of ‘Slipknot’ and ‘Iowa’, the band’s fifth album generally met with rave reviews. Known for their energetic, over-the-top and chaotic performances,

SLIPKNOT have razed the Dessel plains on several occasions. This time around we’ve got new material to look forward to as the band’s sixth full-length is set to drop this summer!
