SOLANGE really broke through with the album ‘A Seat at the Table’ from 2016, based on the singer’s own experiences. The album is one of the most distinguished in recent American music history with its skinless honest treatment of topics like black feminism, race opportunity and a general appeal to the benefit of the most oppressed and neglected groups in American society.

A Seat at the Table topped first place on the American Billboard chart and was voted the year’s best album of leading magazines such as Spin, Vibe and Pitchfork. In 2017, she also received a Grammy for Best R & B Performance for the single “Cranes in the Sky” from the same album.
