The already imposing poster of Download Madrid 2019 to be held on June 28th -30th at Caja Mágica in Madrid, seven new names are added: SUM 41 (only date in Spain), SABATON, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, THE INTERRUPTERS, KONTRUST, BOSTON MANOR and BRUTUS.

SUM 41, a Canadian punk rock group, whose origin goes back to 1996, when they started playing under the name of Kaspir.
In 2000 the Ontario band released their first EP: ‘Half Hour Of Power’. A year later they released their first studio album, ‘All Killer No Filler’, where some of his most recognised songs, such as ‘Fat Lip’, ‘In Too Deep’ and ‘Motivation’ and reached No. 13 in the Billboard 200 list.
In 2002, SUM 41 delivered a new work, ‘Does This Look Infected?’ Followed by ‘Chuck’ in 2004, which was born out of the band’s experience during their stay in the Congo, where they witnessed the conflicts of the place. The album had a very good reception, reaching tenth position on the Billboard 200 list.
A fourth studio album was released in 2007 with the title of ‘Underclass Hero’, the first with its new guitarist, after the departure of Dave Baksh. The fifth disc of the formation, ‘Screaming Bloody Murder’, did not arrive until the 2011. After announcing in 2015 its return to recording, in 2016 came ’13 voices’, this also marked by the return of Dave Baksh.

SABATON, Swedish power metal group, whose origin dates back to 1999. Their military appearance and lyrics of historical war content have made them easily recognisable. The band has received many awards and accolades, getting two of their albums, ‘Carolus Rex’ (2012) and ‘Heroes’ (2014), to reach the platinum record.
On the other hand, their most recent album, ‘The Last Stand’ (2016), has reached the sixth position in the world charts and the number 1 in four countries. In this way, the Swedish group has fans around the world, in addition to its own annual festival and a cruise ship that bears his name.

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS is an American grunge band, which until recently was immersed in their ‘Revolution 3 Tour’, a great tour in North America in which they has shared the bill with Bush and The Cult.
The California group began in 1989 under the name of Mighty Joe Young. After signing with a new label they changed their name to STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. Their debut album, ‘Core’ (1992), became a real success, which led them to be considered one of the best bands of the 90s.
With new material in the process and a new vocalist, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, released in 2018 ‘Stone Temple Pilots 2018’, their latest work.

THE INTERRUPTERS are an American ska punk band formed in 2011. The main vocalist is Aimee Allen, who is accompanied instrumentally and as second voices by the Bivona brothers.
The group has released three studio albums, the last one, ‘Fight The Good Fight’, was released in 2018 and was produced by Tim Armstrong, singer and guitarist of the punk rock band Rancid. The main single of this album, ‘She’s Kerosene’ reached fourth place in Billboard’s Alternative Charts.
THE INTERRUPTERS are currently touring in England, where a lot of their shows have been sold out. The band will perform for the first time in Download Festival Madrid after more than two years without stepping into Spain!

KONTRUST is a crossover band of Austrian origin that is characterised by acting with the traditional Tyrolean costume and defending varied and disparate musical genres, such as heavy metal, rap, tribal music, electronics and polka. The Polish singer Agata Jarosz is the main voice of the group.
The songs of KONTRUST are predominantly in English, but in some of their themes German, Slavic and even Spanish lyrics emerge. Their first video clip, ‘Phono Sapiens’, won them the Austrian Newcomer Award in 2006. The most recent album, ‘Explositive’ (2014), went directly into the Austrian charts, where it stayed for several weeks.

BOSTON MANOR is a British pop punk band from northwest England. Its origin dates back to 2013, when they released their first EP ‘Here / Now’, followed a year later by ‘Driftwood’, their second EP. With change of label in between, in 2015 they released a third EP called ‘Saudade’. 2016 was the year chosen to publish their first full-length album, ‘Be Nothing’.

BRUTUS is a Belgian band characterised by mixing post-rock, the dynamism of metal with the energy of hardcore and progressive rock. To all this, purely pop melodies are added, which makes BRUTUS a unique and authentic band, as shown in their debut album, ‘Brutus’ (2017).
Currently BRUTUS is on a European tour with Thrice, Russian Circles and Chelsea Wolf. Their performance at Download Festival Madrid will be the first time they perform Spain!
