PIP BLOM is the latest confirmation for the NOS Alive’19 poster on July 12th on the Sagres Stage.
The brothers Pip and Tender Blom along with Dareck Mercks and Gini Cameron make up the Dutch band that debuts in Portugal on the 13th edition of the festival. The quartet features the new EP “Paycheck”, which contains the latest single “Come Home” and other themes known to fans such as “School” and “Babies Are A Lie”.
Pip, the founder and lead singer of the band, began writing, recording and releasing his own songs in 2016, at only 22 years old. His themes, of a very modern indie-pop style, with well-formed elements of his own, began to have thousands of views, and requests for action were not delayed. Which led him to form the band, which is now part of tours with artists such as Franz Ferdinand, Surfer Blood and The Breeders.
The energy shows of the Amsterdam quartet quickly impressed the ears of the press and the radio. The prestigious music magazine Stereogum praised the debut single “Pussycat” for the ostentation of the guitars, and praised the intensity of the lead singer in the song “Come Home”. Vice music channel commended Pip as one of the rising guitarists of 2018 and BBC 6 Music integrated into their playlist the singles “I Think I’m In Love” and “Pussycat.”
