One of the biggest names in American rap, PLAYBOI CARTI, will be performing at Ruisrock. The play counts of the hugely popular artist’s music are counted in the billions, and the critically acclaimed new album Whole Lotta Red solidified his position among the top names in the genre. In addition to his rap technique, this pioneer in experimental hip hop is known for his mysterious public persona and dark symbolism.

The hip hop line-up at the festival is also reinforced by other international names. Hailing from Australia, THE KID LAROI has bagged numerous awards in the music industry and gained massive international fame with his huge hits Without You and Stay, with staggeringly high play counts. Swedish rap will be represented at Ruisrock by A36, known for his hit song Samma gamla vanliga, who is also one of the most promising artists in the rap scene across the border.

Combining folk and vintage pop, CLAIRO will take the Ruisrock stage on Saturday. The American singer-songwriter rose to prominence with her single Pretty Girl in 2017, and her later albums Immunity and Sling have made her fame soar even higher. Drawing inspiration from harmonic 70s esthetics, the artist has also used her voice to speak on behalf of women working in the entertainment industry.

Finnish additions to the artist line-up have also been announced. Friday at Ruisrock will feature the violent pop pioneer BLIND CHANNEL, whose mega hit Dark Side shot straight to the top of international charts. Having gained fame in the Eurovision Song Contest, the band has announced they will be releasing a new album on the day they perform live at Ruisrock.

Ruisrock will also feature the multitalented Finnish pop musician CHISU, in addition to the soft pop sounds of YOUNGHEARTED whose song for the UMK competition, Sun numero, has quickly become of the most streamed songs in Finland. New bookings from the Finnish hip hop scene include IBE, who has been dubbed the voice of his generation, SEXMANE, and trap artist NCO hailing straight from Turku. KISSA will bring a touch of glam rock to Ruisrock on Sunday.
