Without MASSIVE ATTACK, the 90s would probably not have been the same. Coming from the sound system culture dub and English hip-hop, the band quickly created a stir on the underground scene of Bristol, laying the foundations, positioning itself with Portishead as pioneer of the trip hop movement .

A few years later, while many of their descendants were still trying to reproduce the grace of the “soulful” Blue Lines, their first (big) disc, the group had already gone far ahead, again too busy to (violently) upset the codes for their somber masterpiece Mezzanine. With the recent encoding of the album in strands of DNA, for its 20 years of existence, one thing is certain: this summer at Eurockéennes Festival, the future will take shape before your eyes…
