Popular Finnish and international artists will be bringing the party to Ruisrock next summer. Among them is American singer-songwriter KHALID, currently one of the most-listened artists worldwide. He effortlessly mixes elements of soul, pop, hip-hop and R&B in his music, which has quickly taken him from high school to the biggest stages in the world. Another big name from the United States is the up-and-coming rap artist, DABABY, who was previously known in the music circles of his home state of North Carolina as Baby Jesus. This self-taught artist has quickly caught the attention of the general public and become known for his interesting social media content.
One of the brightest stars among pop artists, ZARA LARSSON has released numerous electropop hits, such as “Lush Life” and “Never Forget You”, charming listeners and fans on a global level. Another international artist joining the ranks is TOVE LO, a Swedish indie pop star who has just released her new album, “Sunshine Kitty”.
In terms of Finnish music, there will be no shortage of nostalgia – the legendary rock band TEHOSEKOITIN is making a comeback with its original line-up after stopping in 2004. KAIJA KOO, a Finnish pop and schlager music pioneer, is known for her energetic performances – perfect for a celebration of summer in Ruissalo. Other Finnish artists include VESALA, a versatile artist who sold out a concert in the Hartwall Arena, urban rap trailblazer CLEDOS, punk rock band LUUKAS OJA, up-and coming hip hop group MOUHOUS as well as the explosively popular group MAUSTETYTÖT, known for their melancholic and melodic pop music.
This first set of announcements is a sneak peek into the artist line-up of summer 2020. We are creating this next festival in even closer interaction with the audience than before, and you can expect a lot of new and exciting things. The festival grounds will receive some upgrades to improve their functionality, and we are still focusing on ensuring equality in our artist line-up in accordance with the Keychange initiative
