Johnny Marr, Lewis Capaldi, Ride and more added to This is Tomorrow Line-up

With tickets selling fast for the eagerly anticipated launch of This is Tomorrow Festival at its new larger site in Exhibition Park, Newcastle, organisers have today revealed that Smiths icon JOHNNY MARR and the chart-topping Scottish singer-songwriter LEWIS CAPALDI have been added to the Stereophonics headlined date on Sunday 26th May.

Meanwhile, indie legends RIDE have also been confirmed to perform at the event and will make a welcome addition to the Saturday 25th line-up, which already boasts Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – led by the ex-Oasis star – plus The Vaccines, Editors and Glasvegas.

Other new additions include: YONAKA, MARSICANS, CATTLE & CANE, THE SNUTS and LAURAN HIBBERD and many more.

Hot on the heels of his last critically acclaimed album, “Call the Comet,” JOHNNY MARR, the man behind the ground-breaking guitar sounds of The Smiths, recently announced a global tour and North East fans will now get to see him in action with thousands of fellow revellers in the beautiful outdoor setting of Exhibition Park.

Meanwhile, LEWIS CAPALDI continues to achieve mainstream success, building on his UK number one hit single “Someone You Loved.” The super talented 22-year-old is set to unveil his debut album, “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent,” on 17 May, just before This is Tomorrow, and fans will get a unique chance to see him in action before he rockets to global fame.

This is Tomorrow is set to be the biggest and most ambitious outdoor live music event the North East of England has witnessed, and, with an expected sell out across all three days, people who haven’t snapped up their tickets yet are encouraged to buy them now to avoid disappointment.

This is Tomorrow is all about pushing the boundaries of what is possible. We promised more heavyweight acts and we have delivered. We’ve been working on getting the Sunday line-up right for some time now, and having Stereophonics, Johnny Marr and Lewis on the same bill is unbelievable. We were around when Ride first broke back in the early 90s and we’re delighted to add them to the Saturday leg alongside Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds
