Groove Armada, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Norman Jay and more for Kaleidoscope 2020

Ally Pally’s festival of music and arts promises huge live performances, hilarious comedy and incredible immersive entertainment this summer!

On 25th July 2020, Alexandra Park and Palace will throw open its gates to welcome a vibrant and eccentric cast of performers for Kaleidoscope 2020 – a summer celebration like no other. Amongst the first artists to be announced for the festival are GROOVE ARMADA, FUN LOVIN’ CRIMINALS, HOUSE GOSPEL CHOIR and NORMAN JAY MBE, with words and comedy coming from IRVINE WELSH, LAUREN LAVERNE, REGINALD D HUNTER, ED GAMBLE, PHIL WANG, SOPHIE DUKER and more. Immersive experts RIFT will be performing in Ally Pally’s Victorian basements deep below the Palace itself.

Set high above London in the iconic grounds of Alexandra Palace, Kaleidoscope’s main stage boasts sweeping views of the city’s impressive skyline. Where better to witness one of the best live dance shows in the capitol this year? With eight studio albums and numerous hit singles under their belt, including ‘I See You Baby’ and ‘Superstylin’, GROOVE ARMADA have been at the top of their game for two decades. In that time, their show has evolved into a pioneering combination of performance and electronics – one that’s not to be missed this summer.

Also performing at Kaleidoscope are cinematic hip hop rockers, FUN LOVIN’ CRIMINALS. Bursting onto the scene in 1996, gate-crashing the Brit-Pop party with their unique New York swagger, Fun Lovin’ Criminals have been wowing festival audiences with thunderous sets for over twenty years. Revellers can expect their Barry White eulogy ‘Love Unlimited’ and their stick-up stunner, ‘Scooby Snacks’.

They’ll be joined at the festival by HOUSE GOSPEL CHOIR, an electrifying House meets Gospel experience that never fails to get audiences clapping, dancing and singing along. World-respected DJ and co-founder of the legendary Good Times Sound System, NORMAN JAY MBE, will also be taking to the stage across the weekend.

Much more than just a music festival, Kaleidoscope will once again be playing host to some of the biggest names in comedy. REGINALD D HUNTER has been performing in the UK for over twenty years, during which time he has cemented himself as one of the country’s best-loved comics. He’ll be bringing his hilarious and searingly honest observations to the festival, along with star of the Off Menu podcast, ED GAMBLE, and panel-show regulars PHIL WANG and SOPHIE DUKER. Also talking at Kaleidoscope is renowned Scottish playwright and author of Trainspotting, IRVINE WELSH. Completing the first wave line-up are immersive theatre experts, RIFT, who’ll be inviting festival-goers to venture deep below the Palace for a performance in the eerie Victorian basements.

A celebration of creative delights and discovery set high above the London skyline, Kaleidoscope is a one-day event that welcomes thrill-seekers of all ages. As well as incredible live music, mesmerising DJ sets, comedy and immersive theatre, there’ll be family entertainment and delicious food and drinks offerings from local traders.
