Erykah Badu, James Blake and many others to play Flow Festival

ERYKAH BADU, a US star with a lengthy and influential career in R&B, hip hop, jazz and soul will play Flow Festival. Badu’s 1997 hit album Baduizm is legendary, voluminously award-winning and an acknowledged classic of neo-soul. Flow also has the pleasure to host British multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer JAMES BLAKE, whose newest album Assume Form was released in January, to near-universal praise. The record continues Blake’s series of artistic triumphs, which, in addition to his critically lauded solo albums, includes production for Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, Vince Staples and Frank Ocean, among others.

Flow will also be graced by the presence of English cult band STEREOLAB, fresh off a ten-year break this coming summer, Houston-based KHRUANGBIN, who spice up their hodgepodge of influences with some heavy Thai swing, New York folk-rock group BIG THIEF, set to release their third album in May and IBE, one of the artists pushing Finnish rap to the next level right now, with an exclusive show for Flow.

Also confirmed to appear Flow Festival this August is the live debut by ASTRID SWAN, STINA KOISTINEN and world-famous Canadian musician OWEN PALLETT. The show is one of a kind and Pallett’s only performance this year. Award-winning singer-songwriter Astrid Swan and Stina Koistinen, known for her work with Color Dolor, will release an EP together in May. Swan/Koistinen paints a musical picture of what it’s like to live with a chronic and incurable disease. Owen Pallett arranged the strings on the EP.
