Cigarettes After Sex confirmed for Rock in Roma 2021

Joining the line up of the new edition of Rock in Rome is the dream pop band CIGARETTES AFTER SEX, initially scheduled for July 9th, 2020, is rescheduled for July 9th, 2021 at the Capannelle Racecourse.

On stage the CIGARETTES AFTER SEX will bring the latest album “Cry”, the second chapter of the band’s recording adventure after the very successful debut with the homonymous LP debut (2017, Partisan Records).

Released on October 25th, the disc has been part of the path traced by the previous one: “Greg Gonzalez repeats the autobiographical oversharing and the sheer ambient pop pleasure of the band’s first album” (“The Guardian”). Songs in which Greg’s sensual and androgynous voice, unique in timbre and expressiveness, collects the delays of the guitars and the slowed down rhythms to ignite a hypnotic and dilated emotional current: the bowels of dream pop meet reverberations never so melancholic. “Cry” confirmed the band as a true “overnight Internet Sensation that captures the darker side of pop” (“Vice US”). Less than a year after the release of “Cry”, Cigarettes After Sex released the new song “You’re All I Want” on 26 May.
