The line-up for TW Classic 2019 is now complete and it’s seriously rocking! BON JOVI is the top act for the one-day festival that takes place on Sunday 14th July in the Festival Park. It was also previously announced that JOHN FOGERTY would bring the best of Creedence Clearwater Revival to TW Classic 2019. Today organisers are adding ANOUK, SKUNK ANANSIE, JOHN BUTLER TRIO, SWITCHFOOT and JIMMY BARNES to the bill.
And there’s something new: after TW Classic has finished, festivalgoers can camp for the night in Werchter. A festival campsite will be made available for visitors to the one-day festival for the first time.
TW Classic 2019 is going to rock. Festival opener JIMMY BARNES – born in Scotland, raised Australia – is a legend in his home country. He has a powerful voice and sings meat-and-potatoes rock songs. Barnes is one of the bestselling Australian artists of all time.
The American band SWITCHFOOT also has serious credentials. Four top 10 albums in the US, a Grammy for Best Rock Gospel Album for ‘Hello Hurricane’ (2010). JOHN BUTLER TRIO, who sold out the AB towards the end of last year, are coming to Werchter for the second time. The Australian band had already appeared at Rock Werchter in 2008. Roots, folk and rock form the core of the John Butler Trio’s beautiful, eclectic songs.
SKUNK ANANSIE have something to celebrate. The group with the charismatic front woman Skin have been around for 25 years. They are celebrating that with the amazing live album “25LIVE@25” – available since last week – and a concert at TW Classic.
The best and most popular female singer in the Netherlands, ANOUK, adorns the TW bill for the third time. On her latest album ‘Wen d’r Maar Aan’ she sings in Dutch for the first time. At TW Classic you can expect an hour of pure Anouk with the best of her entire repertoire.
JOHN FOGERTY has penned many evergreens over the years. He is considered to be among a) the 100 best singers, b) the 100 best guitarists and c) the 100 best songwriters of all time. The American knows how to craft meaningful classics you can sing along with better than almost anybody else. Fogerty is a legend full of life. His concert at TW Classic will showcase the hits of Creedence Clearwater Revival.
The headliner at TW Classic 2019 is BON JOVI: everyone knows the words to their classic rock songs and a party is guaranteed. Their last performance in Belgium was back in 2011. The American band will remember Werchter from further back, too. They played their own shows in the Festival Park in 1995 and 2001. They have rehearsed 95 songs for the coming tour which they will play on rotation. Classics like “You Give Love A Bad Name”, “It’s My Life”, “Wanted Dead Or Alive”, “Bad Medicine” and the inescapable “Livin’ On A Prayer” are assured of a place on the set list.
