When A-HA climbed to the top of the world’s most prestigious hit list, the Billboard Hot 100 in the USA in 1985, the starting shot was fired for a career that is unparalleled in Norwegian music history. “Take On Me” was a mega-hit back then and still is – almost 40 years later. The song is approaching a billion plays on Spotify, and the legendary video has been viewed – hold on – 1.4 billion times on YouTube. That says a lot about the topicality of the trio. A-HA has a long career crammed with record concerts and fantastic record releases.
Always with a will to think new at the bottom, which has kept them young and vital. Soon the trio will be back with both film and new album. The work has been given the title “True North” and is expected next autumn.
Before that, Bergenfest is one of the few privileged places in Norway to be visited by the Norwegian pop success of all time. A summer night in the company of songs like “Hunting High and Low”, “The Sun Always Shines On TV”, “Summer Moved On” and “I’ve Been Losing You” could not be so much better.
This will be legendary, touching and beautiful. A-HA headline on Wednesday 15th June at Bergenfest 2022 and thus takes over the castle from ROBYN.
