Chrissie Hynde’s intense and rebellious style has inspired many and today she is often hailed for having paved the way for many other female musicians. In 2016, THE PRETENDERS released the album “Alone” (produced by Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys) and guests of the Jelling Music Festival as part of a major European tour.
The Florida band THE MAVERICKS was formed in 1989 and has the big hit with songs such as “Dance The Night Away” and “What A Crying Shame” and achieved great hit rankings throughout the 90s and received, among other things. an American grammy. After a break in 00, the band was re-assembled in 2012 and have since built a reputation as a superb live band. Thus, the last years Tønder Festival laid down with their very special mix of 60’s pop, blues, country and Mexican folk music.
