Following two years since the inaugural 2019 WONDERFRONT Music & Arts Festival, the highly anticipated Wonderfront Festival 2022 is returning to San Diego’s downtown waterfront on November 18th – 20th 2022. The 2020 and 2021 iterations of the festival could not take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but Wonderfront is finally back with its 2022 festival and the lineup is packed with big name talent. The 2022 lineup has just been released to the public today. A Phase 2 unveiling of additional artists, including another big headliner and other great names, will take place in May to round out this exciting festival lineup.

Gracing the multiple stages, which will be spread out across the downtown waterfront, will be artists including ZAC BROWN BAND, KINGS OF LEON, GWEN STEFANI, G-EAZY, YOUNG THE GIANT, LAUREN DAIGLE, SWAE LEE, QUINN XCII, FITZ & THE TANTRUMS, EARTHGANG, BIG BOI, THUNDERCAT, SOJA, NOAH CYRUS, CAM, JUDAH & THE LION, WHETHAN, TREVOR HALL, HIPPIE SABOTAGE, TWO FEET, SKIP MARLEY, MOD SUN, NIKO MOON, MAX, BAKAR, and many more outstanding artists. Later in May more great artists will be announced to join the many artists across the myriad of genres.

Our goal with this 2022 lineup was to still maintain a focus on emerging artists and artists with new music coming out this year, but to also take a significant step forward with bigger headline talent. After the 2019 success we have had so many great artists wanting to play on this year’s lineup, it has been an internal battle with our programming team as to which artists we booked to fill the available stage slots. We also wanted a great mix of artists across the time slots, so that not all the bigger names were just playing at the same later times. We really appreciate the artists that have worked with us to make that possible. There are more great artists to be announced, which we can’t announce until May as some are playing on other large festivals and shows in the Southern California region.

A core mission of the Wonderfront Festival is to showcase the hottest emerging artists, beloved stars, and some local favorites. As well Wonderfront will strive each year to present a broad range of genres, as evidenced this year with the inclusion of Country music, including ZAC BROWN BAND, CAM, NIKO MOON and MYRON ELKINS. The preliminary lineup achieves these goals with many artists descending upon multiple stages along San Diego’s waterfront in late November, creating an exceptional three-day experience at one of the world’s most vibrant festival destinations.

We have a fantastic team of local San Diego ambassadors in Rob Machado, Tony Hawk, and Trevor Hoffman.  We’re excited to also partner up with the Belly Up team, the RMD group team, and other Wonderfront ambassador partners in Miguel and DJ Skee.  It’s going to be an epic weekend showcasing San Diego with amazing music and culinary experiences on the Bay in downtown San Diego.

Like in 2019 this year’s Festival will provide some fun after-party events. 2019 showcased sold out late night yacht parties, as well as club shows at various downtown music clubs. The 2022 version will expand upon the after-party offerings even further.

The Wonderfront Festival will continue its support of local charitable groups helping underprivileged area youth as well as environmental causes including Outdoor Outreach, The Tony Hawk Foundation, and the Rob Machado Foundation.
