Thom Yorke joins Massive Attack at All Points East 2020

All Points East is excited to reveal that THOM YORKE will join the MASSIVE ATTACK line-up as a special guest on Sunday May 24th, in what will be a special solo performance from one of music’s most eminent individuals.

Musician, artist, composer, activist. THOM YORKE sits as one of the most respected names in UK culture, whose work both as the virtuoso lead singer/songwriter of Radiohead and via his solo offerings has seen him win countless accolades from GRAMMYs to Ivor Novello Awards to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame status – as well as garner a fanbase that extends across the globe.

Although electronic music has always been an integral part of Radiohead’s tapestry, showcased on Kid A’s glitchy ‘Idioteque’ or the experimental ‘Fitter Happier’ – Thom’s three solo studio projects The Eraser (2006), Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes (2014) and ANIMA (2019) has seen him delve deeper into his passion for left-of-centre dance music. His most recent LP ANIMA was described by Pitchfork as the “darkest and tenderest music he has released outside of Radiohead”, and was also accompanied by a short film (also titled ANIMA) directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.

Unlike his current Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes tour, where the Radiohead frontman is accompanied by Nigel Godrich and visual artist Tarik Barr, his set at Victoria Park will see him take the stage solo – performing tracks from his own back-catalogue as well as Radiohead’s in a never-seen-before way.

THOM YORKE was invited personally by good friends and fellow trailblazers Massive Attack to accompany them on May 24th, and joins an already incredible billing of NILS FRAHM, YOUNG FATHERS, NENEH CHERRY, SEVDALIZA, FATOUMATA DIAWARA, TNGHT, GAIKA, SKINNY PELEMBE, HOTEL LUX and MAD PROFESSOR. This is one not to be missed.

East London’s ALFA MIST started his musical journey as a grime and hip hop producer. Soon the self-taught pianist and sometimes rapper soon found himself drawn to the jazz, world music and film soundtracks he discovered through sampling, with the likes of Hans Zimmer and Miles Davis being key influences. His 2019 album Structuralism was a tight blend of the aforementioned styles and featured the likes of Jordan Rakei and Kaya Thomas-Dyke.

JACQUES GREENE began creating electronic music when a high school teacher introduced him to Aphex Twin, and he’s since established himself as one of the most exciting, original and enigmatic producers in the game. Known for his stellar house tracks, which often incorporate R&B and UK garage influences (see 2011 dance anthem ‘Another Girl’), he has also remixed the likes of Flume, Schlomo and Thom Yorke’s Radiohead.
