Believe it or not but THE NATIONAL are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. It’s great to see they’ve finally bagged that Grammy: best alternative album for the breathtaking ‘Sleep Well Beast’ but THE NATIONAL’s biggest victory came when Matt Berninger managed to overcome his stage fright.

I would forget lyrics and every show I was afraid to forget more. Now I have a text monitor that I don’t use but that gives me confidence. The result is that we’re a better live band than ever.
