The Cure to headline Mad Cool Festival 2019

Forty years after its formation, THE CURE has not only continued to gain new followers but has continued to demonstrate its status as one of the most important groups of the last half century. With an incredible and a spectacular stage show, they are one of the headliners of Mad Cool Festival 2019.

They are one of the most revered bands in the United Kingdom, their music has influenced countless groups and their followers are counted by thousands. With great hits like ‘Boys Do not Cry’, ‘Close To Me’, ‘Just Like Heaven’, ‘Lovesong’ or ‘Friday I’m In Love’ (fixed themes in their repertoire), nobody should miss the concert of The Cure at Mad Cool Festival 2019.

Founded in 1976 as Easy Cure, two years later they abandoned the ‘Easy’ and signed with Fiction Records to release their debut album ‘Three Imaginary Boys’ (1979). Since then they have published a total of twelve studio albums, a host of singles, as well as several EPs, live albums and compilations. All this knowing how to refresh your sound and experimenting with each new step, either exploring the darker side of your alma mater Robert Smith in albums like ‘Pornography’ (1980), ‘Disintegration’ (1989) and ‘Bloodflowers’ (2000) or his brighter side in works like ‘The Head On The Door’ (1985), ‘Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me’ (1987) and ‘Wild Mood Swings’ (1996).

Following the release of ‘4:13 Dream’, their most recent album, THE CURE was launched around the world with ‘The Cure World Tour 2016’, which began in May of that year with two consecutive dates in New Orleans Lakefront Arena. A total of 76 shows in 22 of countries in which the band has played a total of 87 different songs for almost a million people. In 2018, the band celebrated its fortieth anniversary with an iconic concert in London’s Hyde Park in front of 75,000 people. With rumours of a new album of imminent publication, THE CURE are the best of the options to head Mad Cool Festival 2019.
