The British band THE CURE is the first confirmed headliner for Colours of Ostrava festival in the Czech Republic!
Festival organisers couldn’t have wished for anyone better and more famous band for their 18th anniversary year, when the festival officially becomes an ´adult´. It is a big honour and fulfilled dream. THE CURE belong to the greatest music legends, they influenced generations of bands and musicians. Even though they celebrated 40th anniversary this year, they simple don´t get older.
THE CURE were formed by the singer and guitarist Robert Smith in Crawley, England. Played it´s first show in 1978 and have performed around 1 500 concerts to date. During their existence they released 13 studio albums, several concert films, a few live albums, some soundtrack songs. Also more than 40 singles, a couple of books and a greatest hits thing. The Cure has had 13 members in 40 years, now they perform with: ROBERT SMITH (VOICE & GUITARS) / SIMON GALLUP (BASS) / JASON COOPER (DRUMS) / ROGER O’DONNELL (KEYBOARDS) / REEVES GABRELS (GUITARS).
The 18th edition of the Colours of Ostrava festival will take place on July 17 – 20, 2019, again in the wonderful industrial area of Dolni Vitkovice, Ostrava City. The festival program across 20 stages will offer 350 attractions including 120 international and domestic bands, also discussions, theatre, workshops, films, art and other accompanying activities.
