Official statement from the organisers – “With pain in our hearts we unfortunately have to move the 51st edition of Pinkpop for another year. Traditionally, Pinkpop is a festival with major international headliners & acts and unfortunately that is simply not working out this year. With the disappearance of both Pearl Jam and Post Malone, the line-up for this year is not off for a great start. We also cannot provide certainty on whether or not the other acts would have been able to come in June, simply due to great uncertainties. That is why we had to make this sad decision, but we cannot and do not want to wait any longer. We no longer want to leave our visitors, crew and suppliers in an unclear situation. But we are looking at the future, with our programmers already working on many great acts for next year, including Pearl Jam which we can already confirm as one of the headliners for 2022. The 51st edition of Pinkpop will take place on the 17th, 18th and 19th of June 2022 at Megaland in Landgraaf.”
Despite the positive reports surrounding the vaccination and the route taken towards the old normal, American acts in particular are hesitant to continue their tours this year. From the organisers point of view, it is partly due to this reason that it is not possible to organise Pinkpop this year from their known standards and requirements. They have taken a serious look at alternatives such as moving the festival to later moment in the summer, but despite the support of the guarantee fund, this is not a feasible option for them for several reasons.
Tickets that have already been purchased remain valid for the new dates, as a ticket holder you do not have to do anything for that. Before the restart of the regular ticket sale, ticket holders are given the opportunity to choose a different ticket based on the announced line-up.
Organisers would like to thank everyone who chose to keep their ticket in 2020 and everyone who has bought tickets again so far for their confidence. They hope that you will and can have another year of patience. If you as a visitor do not want or cannot wait a year, you will get the choice between a refund of your money or a ticket credit that can be used for future editions of Pinkpop. Ticket holders will receive information about these possibilities via Ticketmaster.
We know that we disappoint many of our visitors now that they have to wait another year. We will do everything in our power to lay down a fantastic program in 2022 and if the acts we are talking to right now would be confirmed, you should definitely not miss the 2022 edition!
We miss you, we miss our festival, but we will definitely come back to enjoy Pinkpop at Megaland in Landgraaf even more – The Pinkpop Festival Team
