The third headliner of the 27th biggest-ever Rock for People and the star of Saturday night is THE 1975. This British guitar sensation, honoured with two 2019 Brit Awards, joins metal legends SLIPKNOT and British rock greats MUSE as the already-announced headliners for next summer.
The indie-rock band, fronted by Matthew Healy, will bring their new album, Being Funny in a Foreign Language, from earlier this year, but there will be no shortage of old favorites like Chocolate and The Sound. Most of The 1975’s albums have topped the UK and US charts, and they’ve even earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Song in 2020.
When I’ve seen people being funny in a foreign language, it’s the height of intelligence, and, therefore, the height of empathy. I think that if everybody was able to be funny in a foreign language, it would probably save the world!
Matty Healy explained the idea behind the title of the latest record Being Funny in a Foreign Language
