STROMAE, the artist, author, performer, producer, designer and director of Belgian origin – who has recently returned from the success of his new single “Santé” – returns to play live on a single Italian date, within the Milano Summer Festival. The show, promoted by Vivo Concerti and Live Nation, will be held at the Snai San Siro Hippodrome on Wednesday 20th July 2022.
STROMAE had come to the attention of the general public in 2009 thanks to the hit “alors on danse” (taken from the debut album “cheese” which totalled over 2.5 billion streams), a song that reached the top of the charts in 15 countries. It is in 2013, however, with the release of his second album “racine carrée” that he reached worldwide success, totalling over 5.6 million copies sold worldwide.
STROMAE begins to receive several awards both in his country and abroad (4 Victoires de la Musique, 4 NRJ Music Awards and an MTV Europe Music Award). The singer-songwriter has played over 250 sold out dates all over the world (his is one of the highest grossing European tours ever) including participation at Coachella, Lollapalooza and an unforgettable concert at Madison Square Garden in 2015 (it was the first artist to ever perform a concert at Madison Square Garden with a repertoire entirely in French).
STROMAE has also always had a special bond with Italy. Certified platinum, his album “racine carrée” has in fact reached an absolute record: it had never happened that a record entirely in French reached the top of the Italian chart.
In STROMAE’s music, chanson Française, the sound of hip hop and electro-dance, African percussion and the most romantic melodies blend together, all accompanied by lyrics that tell the stories of thousands of mestizos from his city (Brussels), stories of emigration, poverty, colonies, differences, stories of yesterday and today, using a language that is always cured and far from certain hip-hop coarseness.
