The lineup for Tinderbox – where the usual faith takes place in the Millennium Forest in Odense from 23rd to 25th June – again this year offers big international stars, exciting upcoming names and a number of musical national heroes.
It is also a good mix of new and old, Danish and international, rap, rock, pop, R&B and even pop-punk, which hides in today’s advertising and thus makes artists like Muse, Imagine Dragons, MØ, The Minds of 99 and Tessa company.
At the top of the poster is England’s perhaps greatest rapper right now STORMZY, who with his latest album Heavy Is The Head from 2019 once again showed his strength on the modern grime scene. Swedish singer ZARA LARSSON also throws star dust over Tinderbox with her latest album Poster Girl and huge pop hits like “Lush Life”, “Look What You’ve Done” and “Talk About Love”. The last two international features of today’s announcement must be found on the slightly smaller, but still highly topical scenes. The British self-proclaimed ‘urban jazz’ artist IAMDDB has melted many hearts with his silky soft R&B vocals, hard trap beats and strong messages of self-empowerment, while American KENNYHOOPLA represents the brand new wave of sensitive Gen Z pop-punk artists, which right now is flowing in over the global music landscape.
The four international names are announced together with some of the biggest artists in Denmark. Unsurpassed SUSPECT returns to Tinderbox with their madness show, while SAVEUS marks a welcome comeback to the live stage with a new album in the bag. So does SPLEEN UNITED, who after six years of silence recently resumed their careers and are now ready to bring their high-energy dance / rock rave parties to the edge of the stage.
AQUA is – and has long been – one of the biggest Danish export successes, and is also one of the names that Tinderbox fans have most wanted to see at the festival. They deliver this year’s nostalgic pop party, while all of Denmark’s R & B crooner BURHAN G shows off his critically acclaimed abilities on stage. HJALMER has sung directly into the hearts of Danes with his immediacy and irresistible pop songs about life’s ups and downs, while RASMUS WALTER pays tribute to his more than 20 years on the Danish music scene as both a band member and solo artist. Last but not least, the local, forward-thinking Odense duo STATISK will show why the young, Danish-language indie pop / rock scene is so exciting to follow at the moment with their honest lyrics about being equally restless and euphoric and trying to find their place in life.
