Slipknot to play Smukfest 2021 in Denmark

“With their latest studio album, SLIPKNOT has released one of the strongest albums of their career,” wrote Consequence of Sound about “We Are Not Your Kind,” the sixth studio album from SLIPKNOT.

It is with great pride that after the cancellation of Smukfest 2020 again this year organisers can present one of rock music’s biggest international names at this year’s festival. SLIPKNOT from Des Moines in Iowa, released their debut album on the streets in 1999 and quickly established themselves as the most enigmatic, provocative and aggressive collective in modern music.

The debut album – simply called “Slipknot” – is a modern classic and was honoured by Metal Hammer Magazine as “Best Debut of the Last 25 Years.” The album achieved double-platinum in the US and many of the group’s subsequent releases have achieved platinum both in their home country and abroad.

To date, SLIPKNOT has been nominated for 10 Grammy Awards (they won in 2006 for “Before I Forget”) and has received 13 platinum and 44 gold records around the world along the way. Their total record sales have rounded 30 million and to that can be added more than 2.5 billion! YouTube views of their videos. The band’s previous studio album, “.5: The Gray Chapter” (2014) debuted in the Top 5 on the official album chart in 19 countries worldwide, including USA (# 1), UK (# 2), Japan (# 1), Australia (# 1), Russia (# 1) and Germany (# 2).

SLIPKNOT has one of the most dedicated and unwavering fan bases in rock music – and with their fierce, spectacular and visually unique concerts, the masked nine-man army named SLIPKNOT is also considered one of the world’s best live bands.
