We rock Christmas with a big drop before the new year! This time we offer some of Scandinavia’s biggest and most exciting bands, so here’s something for everyone. It is a pleasure to announce that the cultural favorites in TURBONEGRO and THE HELLACOPTERS stand on stage during this year’s festival. In addition, we will visit legendary STAGE DOLLS, the Swedes in BACKYARD BABIES, and the Trondheim band, JOHNDOE and Tromsø rockers in LÜT, famous for their energetic live shows.

It is safe to say that TURBONEGRO is one of Norway’s most legendary rock bands! Since its inception in 1989, they have gained international cult status and stand as a bauta in Norwegian music history. February 2, 2018, 20 years after the classic “Apocalypse Dudes”, the long-awaited sequel came to the 2012 Sexual Harassment. The album is the ninth of the band in the series and has got the appropriate title “RockNRoll Machine”.
THE HELLACOPTERS then became a side project by Entombed Nicke Andersson and Dregen from Backyard Babies in the mid 90’s, and became the actual spearhead in a new movement of Swedish and Norwegian rock bands. Their mix of punk, garage and hard rock has given us many memorable concert experiences and sounds for life. Many will probably describe the cult favorites as one of Scandinavia’s biggest and most important bands.
For 30 years, Swedish BACKYARD BABIES has delivered top quality rock’n’roll, both live and on disc. The band still consists of the four original members Peder Carlsson, Johan Blomquist, Dregen and Nicke Borg, despite having taken a break. This summer, BACKYARD BABIES released the single “Shovin ‘Rocks”, the first of their upcoming albums. «Silver & Gold» is recorded in well-known Park Studios, with the legendary producer Chips Kiesbye.
In 2019 it’s 30 years since “Love Cries” with legendary STAGE DOLLS found their way into the American charts. The Norwegian band is incorporated in the Rockheim Hall of Fame, along with artists like Dum Dum Boys, De Lillos and Åge Aleksandersen. Here we speak like “Love Do not Bother Me”, “Still in Love”, “Soldier’s Gun”, “Hard To Say Goodbye”, “Sorry, I’m All Saying” and “Wings of Steel”. The allsang effect, in other words, dangerously high when this band fires off its hits during Trondheim Rocks in 2019.
Trondheim band JOHNDOE makes their biggest concert in their home town when they are on stage under Trondheim Rocks – just a stone’s throw away where they had their first exercise room. The band is already for veterans to count in Norwegian rock and has since since the critically acclaimed debut “Yes thanks to trouble” from 2003 just continued to deliver. JOHNDOE has played half a thousand concerts all over the country and their live shows have been described as infernal energy blasts.
LÜT has established itself as one of the country’s most exciting rock bands in a short period of time. They have developed a unique, tight and energetic live show, characterised by a hard-hitting sound, great guitars and melodious tunes. 2017 was a great year for the Tromsø gang, where they were nominated for “The Best Live Performer of the Year” under P3 Gold 2017, “Nykommer & Gramostipend of the Year” under Spellemann 2017 and participated in the URT Final. They have also been hailed by Metallica-trommis Lars Ulrich in the radio program “It’s Electric”.
