Scottish rockers Mogwai to play Mad Cool Festival

on

The alchemists of the post-rock MOGWAI have for twenty-three years been making us, metaphorically speaking, vanish with awe, with authentic terror or with a promise of transcendence.

Founded in 1995, the pioneers from Glasgow are a perfect sound storm, the musical equivalent of the grotesque paintings of Francis Bacon or the visions of William Blake’s angels.

The bands’ latest album, ‘Every Country’s Sun’ from 2017, deconstructs all that MOGWAI has been doing for the last two decades! Contrasted sounds (torrential intensity, pastoral introspection, minimalist synthesizer rock, explosions of electricity) and they distill it brilliantly in 56 concise minutes of elegance, trance-rock anthems and transcendental euphoria. Produced by the psychedelic rock luminary Dave Fridmann, it is a structural sound landscape constructed from a rigid foundation, from a soft and vibrant spectrum to a solid obelisk of distortion that points directly at the sky.

Recognised worldwide for their spectacular live shows, the set of MOGWAI at the Mad Cool Festival 2019 should not be missed by anyone.
