Scottish band Mogwai to play Colors of Ostrava 2019

The Scottish band MOGWAI, one of the most important post-rock bands of musical history, will be coming to the industrial area of Dolni Vítkovice and Colours of Ostrava in 2019.

MOGWAI have not shown signs of creative decline for years, they are still able to freeze the audience by crushing, gorgeous and emotionally upgraded, art-rock inventive and dynamic music.

“They will bleed your ears, but the majestic music that only they can play will blow your wounds in a while,” they once wrote of MOGWAI, which relies predominantly on instrumental, melancholy-colored compositions ranging from beauty to chaos.

The successful new ‘Every Country’s Sun’ album has confirmed that MOGWAI remains relevant to the current band. This record shows that there is still a lot of life in them that they are changing and developing, even if they do not forget the past. What is most important, they still create interesting and vital albums.

We are definitely not a mainstream band, we also wear a punk attitude and we protect our creative freedom – Stuart Braithwaite

Their songs have been featured in many television series – Sex in the City, Les Revenants, or Miami Criminal Crime – in The Fountain and in the award-winning Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait, Lost in the Flood before Nine Inch Nails or an alarming BBC Atomic: Living in Dread and Promise on the History of Nuclear Weapons.
