Save £20 on tickets for Folk on The Pier UK 2020

Cromer’s popular music festival returns to the town’s Pavilion Theatre on 8, 9, and 10 May. Renowned as ‘the best gig on the North Sea’ the event attracts a plethora of well-known and up-and-coming folk, folk-rock and acoustic artists from across the UK.

The festival believes in offering not only a wide choice of music but also a variety of ticket options, from single concerts, by the day or for the whole weekend. Currently a weekend pack of tickets will cost £117.50 – a saving of £20 on the cost of six individual tickets. But music lovers will need to hurry as the price for the weekend pack will increase to £127.50 at the beginning of February. (That price will still offer a saving of £10).

This year’s line-up is a ‘who’s who’ of award winners. Among the headliners are BAFTA Nominated TV Entertainer of the Year and The British Academy Gold Award of Composers recipient Richard Digance, and Wizz Jones who recently picked up a Lifetime Achievement Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

The ever evolving Demon Barbers XL who also won a BBC Radio Award for Best Live Act will present their new show ‘Rise Up’ and festival Patron Ashley Hutchings MBE who has been the recipient of numerous awards will present ‘Dylancentric’ – his tribute to Bob Dylan.

But it is not all about award winners – supporting acts this year include festival favourites Gerry Colvin Band, Feast of Fiddles, The Spikedrivers, Kevin Dempsey, Alan Reid, and the Urban Folk Quartet; and newcomers – Linda Watkins, Martin Harley, Ninebarrow and the Redhills. Also making their first appearance at the festival are local acts Alden, Patterson & Dashwood, The Shackleton Trio and Klezmerized!.

Closing the festival on the Sunday evening is ‘the band without whom’ there would not be a Folk on The Pier – Fairport Convention. Little did they know when they invented British folk-rock that it would become the inspiration for what has become a very popular music festival.

Tickets for the festival can be booked on the Pavilion Theatre website: www.cromerpier.co.uk Or by calling the box office on 01263 512495
