Roskilde Festival announces first acts for the Rising and Countdown stages

Roskilde Festival organsiers have revealed the first 19 acts to play on the Rising and Countdown stages for emerging talent at this summer’s Roskilde Festival. At the same time, they can reveal that DREW SYCAMORE will be the first artist to perform on the iconic Orange Stage this year.

A two-year absence of festivals and long periods with closed live venues have made it difficult for particularly the newest of music acts to get out and meet an audience. This could be a severe challenge for Danish music in the future if no extra effort is made for the musical talent pool.

Because the superstars of the future are to be found in the growth segment. Several of Denmark’s leading music acts such as MØ, Jada and The Minds of 99 met the first larger audience in their careers on our stages for emerging talent.

With the announcement of the first acts, we are now setting a direction for this year’s initiative for upcoming music. We’re still keeping half of the programme open to ensure we get the freshest names and trends on the music scene.

For many, the opening of the Orange Stage is the first major, communal gathering point at Roskilde Festival, and this event traditionally attracts a lot of attention. That’s why we usually pick a new artist on the verge of a big breakthrough to get the honour of playing first on the main stage.

This year, it’s hard to think of a more obvious choice than DREW SYCAMORE.

On Danish radio, she’s been played over and over with unmissable hits such as “I Wanna Be Dancing”, “45 Fahrenheit Girl” and “Perfect Disaster”. This summer’s concert will be DREW SYCAMORE’S first appearance at Roskilde Festival.

Joining Drew are A36, AFSKUM, AYSAY, BARBRO, BBYBITES, BLIKFANG, BRIMHEIM, COBRAH, DAYYANI, DEBBIE SINGS, DOPHA, IVAN$ITO, JJ PAULO, ODZ, PRISMA, REVEAL PARTY, RIGMOR, SHOOTER GANG and VOLA
