The team behind Montebello Rockfest, the largest rock music festival in Canada, has unveiled the full lineup for the 13th edition to be held June 14-16, 2018 in Montebello, Quebec. Rockfest will celebrate its 13th anniversary with a back-to-roots edition featuring over 70 rock, metal, punk-rock, hardcore, and hip-hop acts.

Among the headliners, let’s point out PROPHETS OF RAGE, which is essentially a Rage Against the Machine reunion with its three musicians – Tom Morello, Brad Wilk & Tim Commerford – backed by singers B-Real (from Cypress Hill) and Chuck D (from Public Enemy), plus Public Enemy’s DJ Lord. The band will perform all of Rage Against The Machine’s hits, plus a segment of hits by Cypress Hill and Public Enemy, and even a segment of songs by their old group Audioslave as a tribute to Chris Cornell. Highly requested by our audience, this activist supergroup will surely ignite the Montebello crowd!

Let’s also highlight the presence of Californians WEEZER for their first show in Quebec in four years, and the bands FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH (California) and GODSMACK (Massachusetts), two leading acts in modern hard rock/metal. By popular request, US actor Jack Black’s group TENACIOUS D will be back for their second appearance in Quebec following a performance before a record-setting crowd at Rockfest 2015.

Other acts on the bill include: emblematic alt rockers STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, the post-hardcore/pop-punk group A DAY TO REMEMBER, metalheads LAMB OF GOD, veteran emo band JIMMY EAT WORLD, the legendary DJ YELLA from the hip-hop outfit NWA, and pop-punk Canadians SUM 41. These acts will be joined by a punk-rock delegation consisting of RANCID, DROPKICK MURPHYS, FLOGGING MOLLY, LAGWAGON and MILLENCOLIN, plus the pop-punk band ALL TIME LOW and the post-hardcore ensemble THE USED.

As always, punk-rock and ska will be strongly represented: THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES, STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO, PROPAGANDHI, THE TOY DOLLS (first ever show in Canada), HENRY ROLLINS, THE EXPLOITED, GBH, RAISED FIST, GUTTERMOUTH, MUSTARD PLUG, BIGWIG, MISCONDUCT (first show in Canada in 13 years) and DAYS N DAZE.

On the metal front, the schedule includes performances by DIMMU BORGIR (first show in Canada in 8 years), VENOM, CANNIBAL CORPSE, STEEL PANTHER, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE, ATREYU, SLIPKNOT’S CLOWN, SUICIDE SILENCE, EVERY TIME I DIE, MUNICIPAL WASTE and several others.

The Québécois line-up includes four exclusive reunions: RESET (original lineup featuring the members of Simple Plan), LES MARMOTTES APLATIES, LES BONS À RIEN and U-SEED. Other Québécois acts include GROOVY AARDVARK, MONONC’ SERGE, DEADLY APPLES (the band of Rockfest founder Alex Martel), RYMZ, BROWN (Dead Obies’ Snail Kid), M U D I E, ORLOGE SIMARD, STORY UNTOLD, UKKO and LES CHIENS SALES.
