The Scottish band PRIMAL SCREAM are the latest confirmation of NOS Alive’19. The band led by Bobby Gillespie, an inescapable figure of alternative music, rises to the NOS Stage on July 12 joining the already announced VAMPIRE WEEKEND, GOSSIP and IZAL on the second day of the festival.
With more than 30 years of career, PRIMAL SCREAM brings to the Passeio Marítimo de Algés the new album with a release date scheduled for May 24, “Maximum Rock N Roll: The Singles”, a work that reunites the singles of the band from 1986 until 2016 in two volumes. The compilation begins with “Velocity Girl”, going through themes from the first two albums such as “Ivy Ivy Ivy” and “Loaded”.
PRIMAL SCREAM was a key part of the 1980s indie pop scene, following the award-winning “Screamadelica” record of the 1991 Mercury Prize, considered one of the greatest of all time, followed by influences from garage rock and dance music to the latest album “Chaosmosis” released in 2016.
TOM WALKER, one of the rising names of pop music and winner of the Brit Awards Best British Film Awards 2018, debuts in Portugal with a unique concert on the NOS Stage on July 13th. The Scottish musician presents his recent album “What a Time to Be Alive” at NOS Alive’19, joining the already confirmed artists THE SMASHING PUMPKINS, BON IVER, THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS and VETUSTA MORLA on the last day of the festival.
The name TOM WALKER emerged after the success of the hit “Leave A Light On,” which became one of the biggest songs of 2018. The success even reached the first place in the iTunes Charts ranking in 17 countries, sold more than 2 million of copies worldwide and still achieved platinum in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Holland, Italy and Switzerland. With the live performance of the single on NBC’s “Today A Show”, “Leave A Light On”, Walker joined the Top 20 Hot Air Airplay in the United States, becoming the special guest at concerts by names like George Ezra and The Script.
