Pinkpop organisers are proud to add seven acts to the Pinkpop 2022 line-up. With the addition of four new names on Friday and three new names on Sunday, the program is starting to take shape. On Friday MY BABY, BLAUDZUN, SYLVIE KREUSCH and SMASH INTO PIECES travel to Landgraaf and on Sunday NAVARONE, RARE AMERICANS and W.H. LUNG take the stage. These acts join the program for the promising 51st edition of Pinkpop, for which headliners METALLICA, PEARL JAM and IMAGINE DRAGONS were previously announced.
Pinkpop once again welcomes the Amsterdam trio MY BABY on Friday 17th June. The raw, soulful vocals, guitar parts dripping with gospel and blues and driving beats bring MY BABY sold out halls and countless awards. After previous Pinkpop performances in 2013 and 2018, BLAUDZUN will also return to the festival field this summer with his new album Lonely City Exit Wounds. As BLAUDZUN, Johannes Sigmond has been making perfect indie singer-songwriter pop since 2007, which has earned him gold records, Edisons, 3FM Awards and sold-out tours.
Pinkpop also welcomes a highly honored visit from our southern neighbors, from Antwerp SYLVIE KREUSCH comes to Limburg for her Pinkpop debut and brings her first album Montbray with her, which follows various dreamy, brooding pop singles. She was previously successful with the indie pop band Soldier’s Heart and as a member of Warhaus. The heavier material this day comes from Swedish rock band SMASH INTO PIECES, with their accessible songs and the winning combination of danceable grooves and the rough, flexible voice of frontman Chris Adam Hedman Sörbye they have already amassed hundreds of millions of streams. With these four acts, after the Saturday program was completed earlier, the Friday program is now complete.
On Sunday 19th June, one of the best Dutch rock bands ever will treat the audience to a timeless rock sound with infectious grooves and fat riffs, namely NAVARONE from Nijmegen! Led by singer Merijn van Haren, the five band members share a love for the great rock bands from the seventies and eighties. From Nijmegen we go to Canada, where the brothers James and Jared Priestner of RARE AMERICANS concoct a musical vortex of do-it-yourself pop, ska, hip-hop, pop punk and Vancouver-style balkan beats. In addition, the mix of krautrock, post-punk and synthpop by W.H. LUNG visitors an ode to the dance floor that everyone has missed so much. Much of the music on their album Vanities (2021) is written in Todmorden, although the hypnotically droning dance rhythms full of twisting melodies and sparkling keyboards come from Manchester.
With the addition of MY BABY, BLAUDZUN, SYLVIE KREUSCH and SMASH INTO PIECES on Friday and NAVARONE, RARE AMERICANS and W.H. LUNG on Sunday, the program is complete except for one act!
