The NOS Primavera Sound Porto lineup had never been as rich and as diverse as it will be at its 2020 edition. The ninth edition of the Portuguese festival today presents its full lineup, an ambitious list of names that brings together different generations and gathers more styles than ever. From 11th to 13th June, the recurring and iconic headliner PARQUE DA CIDADE will be joined by TYLER, THE CREATOR now a global hip hop icon, LANA DEL REY performing the poetic songs of her acclaimed album Norman Fucking Rockwell!, PAVEMENT delivering one of their only two worldwide reunion concerts, FKA TWIGS at the pinnacle of her career thanks to the stratospheric MAGDALENE, BECK in his condition of living music legend, the Puerto Rican BAD BUNNY as global ambassador of urban music and KING KRULE as a generational reference emerging from the shadows.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of a lineup that will bring together 63 artists of 21 nationalities, which is as varied and as daring as it is balanced and for all tastes, as well as being committed to gender balance. It is unique and exceptional like every Primavera Sound lineup. The countdown has started for NOS Primavera Sound Porto 2020, in the year in which the Barcelona event turns 20 and Los Angeles welcomes the festival for the first time.

Although a Primavera Sound lineup is a snapshot of a time and a place, it would make no sense without all those artists who got us here. NOS Primavera Sound Porto 2020 will welcome the grande dame of indie rock KIM GORDON with her first solo album under her own name, along with the forever young DINOSAUR JR, the champions of post-hardcore JAWBOX, the extra-terrestrial RICHARD DAWSON and of course SHELLAC who can’t miss their annual appointment with Porto. Also new legends in the making like the reborn CHROMATICS (whose frontman, Johnny Jewel, will also perform with his project Desire), CIGARETTES AFTER SEX with their unremitting whisper, DIIV in their quest for the perfect noise, JEHNNY BETH in her first incarnation away from Savages and the tantric riffs of OM with Al Cisneros of Sleep.

As well as being a reflection of the current times, the Primavera sound lineup works as a time capsule, like an oracle that predicts what your next favourite artist or band will be. At NOS Primavera Sound Porto 2020 you will be able to choose from the up and coming Jamaican music artist KOFFEE, GEORGIA and her very British relentless dance music, the new urban Latin diva PALOMA MAMI, the psychedelic soul and funk of KHRUANGBIN, the endless pop archipelago of PENELOPE ISLES and the promising voice of flamenco of the Spanish artist MARÍA JOSÉ LLERGO. You will also have the chance to heal with the melancholic guitars of ROLLING BLACKOUTS COASTAL FEVER, the uncontrollable scratched guitars of BLACK MIDI and the psychedelic madness personified by DERBY MOTORETA’S BURRITO KACHIMBA, from Seville (Spain) to the rest of the world.

The urban hurricane that has dominated the world over the last few years will also land in Porto. The heads of their respective genres Tyler, The Creator and Bad Bunny will be accompanied by the new stars such as the elusive EARL SWEATSHIRT and the incredibly powerful LITTLE SIMZ, the revolutionary strength of SAMPA THE GREAT and JAMILA b and the stellar triumvirate of the Spanish urban scene formed by C. TANGANA from Madrid, the godfather of trap YUNG BEEF and the international star BAD GYAL. The commitment to urban and Latin sounds will be completed by sets by the pioneer of reggaeton DJ PLAYERO and the debut of the union between Florentino, Kelman Duran and DJ Python under the name of SANGRE NUEVA especially for this occasion. There will be perreo in Porto too.
