A new name for TW Classic Festival – NATHANIEL RATELIFF & THE NIGHT SWEATS are playing the one-day festival on Saturday 14th July at the Festivalpark in Werchter.
Five names are now in for TW Classic Festival 2018: Editors, The National, Kraftwerk 3-D, dEUS and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, with more still to come.
The hottest soul revue on the planet! Nathaniel Rateliff and his seven-man Night Sweats are the live sensation of the moment, with You Worry Me being one of the big hits of 2018 already. Singalongs like S.O.B. and I Need Never Get Old have become evergreens within two years of release. That’s all down to Jimmy Fallon. The American talk show host spotted the gang on YouTube in 2015 and invited them onto his Tonight Show. “That guy the other night – son of a bitch,” tweeted Sir Paul McCartney the next morning. Over the following week, Rateliff sold more than 20,000 records. That total has now reached one million.
That’s all well and good, but he actually ended up in music by coincidence. A few years ago, the American had to quit his job as a truck driver for health reasons. He started to learn to play piano and made a folk record that got him a support slot with Mumford & Sons. He found his true musical calling when he discovered blues and soul. The rest is history and in July he will be in Belgium at TW Classic Festival.
