Returning to South London’s Brockwell Park, festival season’s most vibrant and inclusive offering announces its first wave of artists, including ANASTACIA, NATASHA BEDINGFIELD, JIMMY SOMERVILLE, ATOMIC KITTEN, GABRIELLE and more.
The pop event of the year is back for its fifth year with a mammoth line-up of the genre’s royalty, set to become Mighty Hoopla’s greatest edition yet. Playing host to the biggest names from the nostalgic to the new, the inclusive festival’s first artist announcement includes chart-toppers ANASTACIA, NATASHA BEDINGFIELD, ATOMIC KITTEN, JIMMY SOMMERVILLE and many more. Taking place in London’s Brockwell Park on Saturday 6th June.
Heading up the first wave of acts on the festival’s poptastic billing, the multi-platinum selling ANASTACIA will jet into London for a phenomenal show jam-packed with the classics that made her a household name alongside her impressive collection of two-tone sunglasses. Revellers can expect I’m Outta Love, Left Outside Alone and Not That Kind to shake Brockwell Park’s trees in dazzling Hoopla fashion.
With multiple awards and a back catalogue of hits across the globe, NATASHA BEDINGFIELD will also take to the main stage for a set filled with classics and new cuts alike including songs These Words and Unwritten. Sure to take fans back to a time when the Motorola Razr ruled and the skinny scarf was a staple, Bedingfield will undoubtedly prove exactly why she remains such an essential part of pop and bigger than Daniel.
Opening the Big Top stage, ATOMIC KITTEN will be supplying big pop energy with a setlist full of singalong hits including Whole Again and Eternal Flame, whilst GABRIELLE will be dusting off the mic to perform a selection of her huge chart-toppers from Dreams to Rise. Bonafide queer-pop icon JIMMY SOMERVILLE is also set to be a Hoopla highlight, serving his iconic falsetto with a big band and string backup.
Also joining the artist line-up will be songwriter and vocalist extraordinaire ALLIE X, 90s legend BETTY BOO, Sir Elton John approved LONDON GAY MEN’S CHORUS, and dance music phenomenon SONIQUE.
Celebrating alternative club culture across the park, SINK THE PINK, GUILTY PLEASURES and THE GRAND will each be bringing their individual brands of fabulous to the festival, providing guaranteed flamboyancy across pageants, masterful DJ sets and killer choreography, while MAXWELL’S HOUSE OF CABARET bandstand will also be returning with THE COCOA BUTTER CLUB and much more.
The ultimate festival of revelry, inclusivity, and biodegradable glitter, this year’s Hoopla follows the massive success of 2019’s edition, which welcomed 20,000 party-goers and huge names including Chaka Khan, Kate Nash, Liberty X, All Saints and Jamelia.
