Thirty Years, 13 Albums, 11 NME Awards, 4 Brit Awards, 2 Mercury Prize nominations and millions of fans around the world – this is a cult number of Welsh trio MANIC STREET PREACHERS.
The last time when the band performed in front of the local audience was five years ago in the crowded Lucerna Great Hall. Now the fans can finally enjoy James, Nicky, and Sean at RFP too. Only a few British bands have pride in such a long history of steady achievements, including nostalgia, modesty, and the aspiration to keep up with the trends. They play great guitar and use political slogans. As MANIC STREET PREACHERS prove, they resisted the shoegaze wave, Britpop, trip-hop, acid house, and it seems like there is no trend that would limit them even now.
MANIC STREET PREACHERS decided to explore social, political, as well as economic issues in their songs, instead of exploring love. In addition to fans who found their way to the band through melodic lines, Manics was also able to reach out to listeners interested in their meaningful lyrics. This is where the music of today’s cult Welsh band is born. However, on the stage, loud guitars and the voice of singer James Dean Bradfield are the main attention catchers.
