Lynyrd Skynyrd will headline the first day of Rock Fest Barcelona

Few rock bands can boast such a complete, long and illustrious career such as LYNYRD SKYNYRD’S. After a 56 year run, the band led by guitarist Gary Rossington and singer Johnny Van Zant will be back in Barcelona in what will be one of the only two shows in Spain in 2020. An opportunity that marks their return to the country after 22 years and, on the other hand, the last chance to catch them live. The band will headline the first day of the festival on Thursday July 2nd 2020.

With a career full of unique pieces of music in the history of rock such as “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Free Bird”, unquestionable pillars of the genre, LYNYRD SKYNYRD’S have been one of the main band of southern rock as well one of the most influential, one of those that cross over genres and generations. Formed in 1964 in Jacksonville, Florida, by the missed Ronnie Van Zant and Rossington himself, Lynyrd Skynyrd rose to worldwide fame in the first half of the seventies with a style that drank from blues and hard rock equally, but with a swagger and attitude that few could match.

With a career marked by tragedy but incredibly prolific, LYNYRD SKYNYRD’S are one of the last vestiges of an era where rock was as real as the people who played it and lived it.

Rock Fest Barcelona will be the one last chance to see a fundamental band in rock music.
