Lily Allen to headline Love Saves The Day UK 2019

With the New Year well under way Love Saves The Day organisers have been getting ready for their biggest and best year in Eastville Park yet! It hasn’t been easy pulling together a line-up that tops last year but we’re feeling pretty confident about this one and are buzzing from the response you’ve given us so far. Topping the bill for the Main Stage this year are two of the most iconic names in the modern day British music scene.

On Saturday, with no need for introduction we have LILY ALLEN. Her first release was with her debut album ‘Alright, Still’, which included hits such as ‘Smile’ & ‘LDN’, since then she has released three more albums and a variety of hit singles as well as hosting her own TV show. Her unmistakeable sound combines her London accent with soundtracks that take influence from Reggae, Ska and Hip Hop and her collaborations reflect this, including Giggs, Professor Green and Lady Chann whilst her most recent collaboration with SHY FX & Stamina MC, an energetic dance-floor filler with that’s been making waves in clubs across the UK since it’s release. The second headliner for this year’s LSTD Saturday will be a very special guest, still to be released – keep an eye out for this one, it won’t disappoint.

After fifteen years in the game, in 2018 CHASE & STATUS have decided to go back to their roots with their latest project ‘Return II Jungle’. This project focuses on going back to their original Jungle sound and celebrating the artists that were sampled in original Jungle tracks. In order to do this, CHASE & STATUS recorded the album in Jamaica, where they were able to collaborate original reggae and dancehall legends such as Buru Banton and Cutty Ranks. The boys currently have two EP’s under this name with a forthcoming album for 2019 and a branded event that has been selling out shows across the UK, showcasing some of the best in modern day Jungle/D&B DJ’s & MC’s. On Sunday evening we will be hosting our very own ‘Return II Jungle’ takeover with CHASE & STATUS as well as an all star selection of legendary Junglist selectors and MC’s.

Head over to the Lonely Hearts Club and on Saturday you’ll find Camelphat’s ‘Blow’ on an all day takeover featuring Dennis Ferrer, Solardo & more, whilst on Sunday Bristol’s baddest bass collective, The Blast will be inviting some all star guests down including; David Rodigan, Holy Goof & Friction to name a few.

On the Centre Stage it’s all about Drum & Bass for Saturday and therefore organisers couldn’t let it be hosted by anyone other than the infamous Bristol crew – RUN! Known for putting on regular events in Motion and having booked pretty much every D&B artist under the sun we knew the Centre Stage would be in good hands with these guys. They’ll be bringing down some very special guests in the form of SUB FOCUS, DJ HYPE, NOISIA as well as Bristol legends DAZEE, D*MINDS and TS2W. Come Sunday the tempo will slow down, but not too much, as Denis and his ‘Sulta Selects’ show come to town for a feel good party with the likes of MIDLAND, MELLA DEE and more. Brouhaha is also back with a bang this year, it’s a Futureboogie showcase on Saturday, with Christophe and Dave Harvey bringing down some of their favourite selectors including Palms Trax, Antal and more. On Sunday the legendary GOLDIE will be celebrating 25 years of his signature label Metalheadz alongside the likes of LEVELZ and CHILDREN OF ZEUS, hosted by Bristol’s own Hold Tight Records.

Additionally, Paradiso will be playing host to some big names this year too, with Crack Magazine hosting an array of the best lyricists the UK has to offer including LITTLE SIMZ, SLOWTHAI, KOJEY RADICAL & FLOHIO. Whilst on Sunday BONOBO presents his ‘Outlier’ brand with a DJ set from the man himself alongside PEGGY GOU, DJ SEINFELD and CHAOS IN THE CBD.

If you haven’t heard of the legend that is ‘Art’s House’ – this is a tour that’s been selling out shows up and down the country and even has it’s own day festival in London, hosted by Artwork, this show involves him bringing his living room to every gig and hosting a party in his front room. Organisers have decided it’s about time they get nice and cosy with Artwork so they have asked him to pack up the sofas once again and get down to Bristol for Art’s House in the Lost Gardens on the Saturday of LSTD. On Sunday they will be bringing local legend DJ Die and his label Gutterfunk down for a real Bristol party, line-up still to be announced.

Last but by no means least it’s TEACHINGS IN DUB, if you haven’t heard of these guys they fly the flag for Dub music in Bristol and have done for years, bringing some of the biggest sound systems and selectors to the city for bass heavy all night long parties. They’ll be back at LSTD again this year and joined by the legendary Channel One Soundsystem for an all day takeover across both days of the festival. Channel One Soundsystem are one of the most revered sound system’s in the UK, run by Ras Kaleb and Mikey Dread, these guys have been running systems since the 70’s, from their famous dub corner at Notting Hill Carnival to Wembley Arena, these guys truly fly the flag for sound system culture and have been for over fifty years.
