Lily Allen joins the Port Eliot Festival bill

Last June, LILY ALLEN released her 4th LP, No Shame, to great critical acclaim and a Mercury Prize nomination. A little later in the year, her memoir, My Thoughts Exactly, was published by Blink, becoming a No.1 Sunday Times Bestseller. The book was declared ‘an amazing read’ by Port Eliot favourite Matt Haig and ‘witty, dark devastating’ by another good judge, Caitlin Moran.

Now organisers are delighted to announce that LILY is coming to Port Eliot. She will be in discussion about EVERYTHING on the Park Stage with Guardian writer Sophie Heawood and DJ-ing deep in the woods after dark in the Boogie Round. And if you’re in the children’s adventure spot, Wildlings Wood, you may find that she’s reading you a story as the sun goes down.

And, approaching this carefully… LILY’s appearance at Port Eliot is a return of sorts, a pilgrimage if you will, taking her back to her roots. For, as she revealed some years back, LILY was conceived at the Elephant Fayre, the grand anarchic forerunner to Port Eliot on our ancient St Germans estate!

My Mum and Dad told me I was conceived there so I feel like I have a connection to the land! I’m really looking forward to the food. It’s literally impossible to eat badly there!
