Kylie Minogue to headline Open’er Festival in Poland

KYLIE MINOGUE, an absolute legend and pop culture icon headliner Open’er Festival powered by Orange 2019! INTERPOL, an icon of New York rock and alternative, and LIL SKIES, OCTAVIAN, LA DISPUTE, MISSIO and DEATH GRIPS also join the line-up.

KYLIE MINOGUE’s career covers 3 decades filled with hits that became the canon of pop music. From the personal debut to the last year’s album “Golden” continuously remains a synonym of class and authenticity. Regardless of whether the audience was happily singing the eighties “I Should Be So Lucky”, she shed tears of emotion at “Where the Wild Roses Grow”, a memorable duo with Nick Cave in the 90s, or raged on the dance floor at “Love at First Sight” “And” Can not Get You Out of My Head “, her fans have always been sure that nothing in her person is fake. Together with her, they also experienced personal dramas and celebrated life when they emerged victorious. This year, the artist celebrates her entire career through a unique, two-part “Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection” publishing house. And so it will also be at Open’er – unrestricted fun, joy and dance at the fantastic show of a unique artist whose creativity has shaped several generations.

Another musical icon that joins the line is INTERPOL. Since 2002 and the debut of ‘Turn On The Bright Lights’, they remain at the forefront of the most important guitar groups in the world. Thanks to such songs as “Evil”, “The Heinrich Maneuver” and “All the Rage Back Home” for years, they built the status of a rock legend. The most avid fans are associated, among others, as one of the key bands of the New York rock revival of the beginning of the last decade. However, their sixth album “Marauder” (2018) from the beginning was to show that it is not yet time to save them on the pages of history, because they still have a lot to say. The success of the piece “If You Really Love Nothing” has shown that the work of Paul Banks, Daniel Kessler and Sam Fogarino still kidnaps a huge crowd of fans. And if that was not enough, just a few months after the release of the album, the musicians decided to release EP “Fine Mess” with songs that did not hit the “Marauder” session. The group will perform at the Open’er Festival on July 3.

It’s time for hip-hop. Few people are able to say that they already knew what they wanted to do in their kindergarten. However, in the case of 20-year-old Kimetrius Foose (better known as LIL SKIES), rap appeared very early, largely due to his father’s passion. He began to present the first tracks as a fourteen year old. In the following years he released a mixtape series, and the most-famous of them, “Life of a Dark Horse” (2018), received more than one billion streams, mainly thanks to pieces of “Red Roses”, “Nowadays” and “Lust”. Thanks to the popularity of the publishing house, the rapper has started his first US tour. In March, LIL SKIES finally presented his first studio album “Shelby”, which made his debut in the 5th place in the Billboard 200.

OCTAVIAN is the winner of the BBC Sound Of 2019 plebiscite and one of the most interesting representatives of urban music of the younger generation! Born in France, OCTAVIAN was raised in England, he felt the first wave of popularity in 2017, when he released his official debut single “Party Here.” Even then, it felt that he had his own unique flow as well as an interesting personality. A bit of a rave, among others, Drake, curling the hype around the young artist. And Pitchfork called “Party Here” his Best New Track. At the same time Octavian drew attention with his stylistics, combining R & B, dancehall, hip-hop, grime and house. Next singles only accelerated the development of his career, which led to cooperation with the larger stars of the stage – Mura Masa, A$AP Ferg and Skepta.

LA DISPUTE is an American quintet that has been combining elements of post-hardcore and experimental rock for over ten years. The group has released 4 full albums so far, and their debut “Somewhere At the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair” (2008) by many fans of the alternative is still considered one of the most important hardcore records of this century. In March, 5 years after the last release of the “Rooms of the House” formation, fans of LA DISPUTE have had their new album. “Panorama” proves that the group is still in great shape. “Another outstanding album of an exceptional band”, wrote “Kerrang” directly. Pitchfork’s website, on the other hand, rightly pointed out that the new publishing house should be approached as a book – “in uninterrupted concentration”.

MISSIO is recently one of the most interesting bands, based their creativity on the border between rock, pop and electronics. Since the release of their debut “Loner” (2017), the American duo very quickly began to gain new fans and the appreciation of critics. “Bottom of the Deep Blue Sea”, “Everybody Gets High” and groundbreaking “Middle Fingers” in less than a year had over a dozen million streams, and Rolling Stone placed MISSIO in the list of the most promising new groups. As Matthew Brue and David Butler claim, their last two years of life resembled a real roller coaster. However, the confusion around them did not hurt their work. “One of the reasons that makes us work so well together is everyday conversations, even if we’re in a bad mood, we sit down and talk about our problems for 45 minutes, which helps us create better songs.” This year their second album “The Darker The Weather, The Better The Man” was released.

It is not easy to find the right words to describe well the work of DEATH GRIPS, an experimental project from California. But one word certainly suits her – unpredictable. DEATH GRIPS have been on the music scene for nearly a decade. During this time, they released 6 albums, mixing various music genres – from hip-hop, through electronics, industrial, to punk-rock or nois sounds. The production of Zach Hill and Andy Morin combined with uncompromising, aggressive rap MC MC Ride creates a phenomenon that you can not pass by indifferently, and with each release they gain more and more recognition among fans of the broadly understood alternative. Their latest album “Year Of The Snitch” was released last year, gaining great reviews.
