After the announcement of Avant-Garde Metal Day, which will bring together the crème de la crème of the Belgian and international metal scene, Dour Festival is making a strong comeback and announcing a new batch of rock names that proves that the genre continues to take on fresh faces and will always have its place in an event that has decided to offer it a new stage: Le Garage.
While the Australian sound rebellion KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD will perform at the Last Arena, after having released no less than 5 albums in less than two years, the dirty London kids of BLACK MIDI, also known as the undisputed new sensation of English rock, which mixes everything up (prog-rock, psychedelic or blues music) and breaks everything, especially the rules, will return to Le Garage.
This new lair will be inaugurated next summer by fans of rock, metal, hardcore punk, sludge and other related genres. This is where the best of the British rock scene will perform. It will be represented at Dour Festival by the brilliant Londoners of WARMDUSCHER, a group made up of members of The Fat White Family, Paranoid London, Insecure Men and Childhood but also by the post-punk BLACK COUNTRY, NEW ROAD and the psychedelic sixties music of LOS BITCHOS.
Evermore distortion from the United States with confirmations of the best of New York underground punk DIRTY FENCES and SHOW ME THE BODY. The made in the USA synthwave of BOY HARSHER at the crossroads between techno, electroclash and industrial music also joins the Garage programme.
A return to home roots with a beautiful representation of the Belgian scene and confirmations from the muscular punk of Liège COCAINE PISS, the return of THE K. and their new album “Amputate Corporate Art”, the Brussels band which takes its name from the last poem of Edgar Allan Poe: ANNABEL LEE, the Brussels punk, pop and no wave trio MILK TV, the Flemish BOROKOV BOROKOV ANDLES JULIENS, 10 musicians who throw themselves headlong into the repertoire of Julien Clerc!
The spearheads of French rock LAST TRAIN, known and respected for their concerts of rare and formidable intensity, also confirm their first-time arrival at Dour Festival.
Finally, the mysterious Dutch trio DE AMBASSADE, recently signed by the famous industrial music label Knekelhuis, will get its cold DIY sounds plunged in reverb resonating at Garage, just like Rotterdam’s IGUANA DEATH CULT, and their explosive garage punk.
