Kali Uchis confirmed for Super Bock Super Rock 2021

When listening to KALI UCHIS we have a renewed certainty that pop music can still surprise and thrill us. Singer, songwriter, producer and director of her own video-clips Kali shows nothing stands in the way of her artistic spirit.

She grew up in Virginia, US, and began to feed her musical talent early on as she learned to play saxophone and piano in her teenage years. In 2012 she released her first mixtape Drunken Babble. Over the next few months her fame sky-rocketed with singles such as “Know What I Want”, “Lottery” and collaborations with well-known names like Snoop Dogg, Tyler, The Creator and Major Lazer. Three years later, in 2015, she released her first EP, “Por Vida”, produced by Diplo, Kaytranada and Tyler. Kali is the type of artist who transcends the usual moulds. Characterised by influences from R&B, reggae and even jazz, Kali can be considered a disruptive pop musician.

In 2017 she was nominated for a Grammy award in the Best R&B Performance category for “Get You”, in collaboration with Daniel Ceasar as well as for a Latin Grammy award in the Record of the Year category for “El Ratico”, in collaboration with Juanes. Following this consolidation process to reach a more mature artistic language Kali felt ready to release her debut album “Isolation” in 2018. The album was critically acclaimed (rated 8.6 by Pitchfork; five stars by NME; four stars by Rolling Stone, Q and The Independent) and captivated the public with singles “Tyrant”, in collaboration with Jorga Smith, “Nuestro Planeta”, featuring Reykon, and “After the Storm”, with Tyler, The Creator and Bootsy Collins.

Next summer one more star will land in Meco: KALI UCHIS performs on 17th July 2021 on the Super Bock Super Rock Super Bock Stage
