Back in October organisers announced the first bands that will be performing on the stages of the Reload metal festival in Sulingen in 2023. Now they are back with the second wave of bands and thus seal the top-class program in the history of the festival so far. 20 other bands confirm: Among them IN FLAMES, KILLSWITCH ENANGE and WHILE SHE SLEEPS.
With POWERWOLF, TRIVIUM and BEARTOOTH at the top of the line-up announced in the first wave, festival organisers are setting the bar pretty high. The new announcements can absolutely keep up – Fans of hard guitars can look forward to real highlights!
True metal giants confirm with IN FLAMES. Playing countless shows around the world, they have influenced many of today’s biggest acts without ever stopping to develop their own distinctive sound. The pioneers of melodic death metal are performing for the third time at the Reload Festival in beautiful Sulingen in 2023 and this time they have their brand new record “Foregone” with them.
After years of effort Reload finally managed to sign metalcore legends KILLSWITCH ENGAGE for 2023. The American band from Westfield, Massachusetts is one of the most important representatives and leading forces of the genre. They always succeed in giving international impetus and never losing their grip on reality. In addition to an incomparable mixture of heaviness and melodies, their shows show above all a great closeness to their fans, which they will demonstrate again on the weekend of August 17th to 19th, 2023.
The five-piece metalcore band WHILE SHE SLEEPS from Sheffield, England, will once again honour the Reload Festival 2023 and are now developing into one of the house bands of the festival. After their last unforgettable performances in 2017 and 2019, organisers didn’t have to think twice about inviting the group again. WHILE SHE SLEEPS are one of the hottest bands on the scene and are now one of the great British metalcore bands that have successfully mastered the leap from the raw sound of the 2010s to modern, melodic and multi-faceted approaches. They are traveling with their current album “Sleeps Society”, which picks up seamlessly where “So What?”, the band’s most versatile release to date, left off in 2019.
I am particularly pleased that we have again managed to put together a good mix. Many bands that will be appearing on the stages of the Reload Festival for the first time, but also some that we have already had as guests.
Andre Jürgens – Managing Director
A total of 20 other bands confirmed their appearance at the Reload Festival 2023. A last slot is traditionally reserved for a young band, which is chosen by means of a contest. Which band wins the race here will be announced in due course.
